Kevin Walker – Sleepwalker – was born in the 1970s in Queens to a Jamaican immigrant family. He grew up in the Washington, DC area. For almost two decades he cared for children from babyhood through elementary school-age as a teacher and after-school leader. Throughout the duration of that career he also worked as a professional singer-songwriter, associated with groups including Northstarr International and Inkwell and the Freeword. At present, he sings with the Wammie Award-winning reggae band Shamans of Sound, and is a voice actor and coach. Inspired by the conflict and racism to which the Trump era gave birth, Sleepwalker has become an online activist seeking to connect with and challenge the assumptions of people he’d be unlikely to meet in real life.
